Join us for the Annual Raptor Run 5K, a community tradition at the stunning Boyd Hill Nature Preserve!

The Raptor Run 5K: A timed, chip-tracked race for competitive and recreational runners. Perfect if you want an official result, a chance at a personal record, or the buzz of a true race-day atmosphere.
The Raptor Stroll 5K: A casual, untimed walk/run later in the morning. Includes the same trail and shirt at a lower price point, but no timing chips or bibs. Great for families, first-timers, or anyone who just wants to move at their own pace.

Why We Run
The Raptor Run was first launched by St. Pete Strength Center (formerly Anytime Fitness DTSP, 2011–2022) to bring people together in fitness, nature, and community. Today, in collaboration with Peli Productions, we carry on that grassroots spirit to raise funds for The Friends of Boyd Hill. Proceeds directly support the Birds of Prey Program, which provides sanctuary for permanently injured raptors and educates the public about these incredible birds.
The Course
Boyd Hill Nature Preserve is a hidden gem on Lake Maggiore, offering a mosaic of tropical habitats, shady trails, and open lake views. Our marked 5K course highlights the preserve’s unique beauty.
Important: To maintain the integrity of the trails and wildlife, this event is exclusively for human racers, so your pups will need to stay at home. Additionally, registration is capped at 200 participants. Don’t wait, these spots will go quickly!
Registration Perks
- An exclusive, locally designed 2025 Raptor Run Long-Sleeved Dry-Fit Shirt, featuring the Swallow-Tailed Kite.

- Chip-tracked results for bragging rights (For Raptor Run participants only. Not for Raptor Stroll).
Event Details
- Race Day: Saturday, December 13, 2025
- Check-in (bib, bag, & shirt pickup):
- Thurs, Dec 11 (3–6pm)
- Fri, Dec 12 (11am–6pm)
- Race morning starting at 7:30am (All at Boyd Hill Nature Center, 1101 Country Club Way S, St. Petersburg, FL)
- Raptor Run Warm-Up: 7:45am (led by St. Pete Strength Center trainers)
- Race Start: 8:00am
- Raptor Stroll Warm-up: 9:45am
- Raptor Stroll Start: 10:00am
- Parking: Free event parking in back lot (signs & volunteers will direct you). Carpooling encouraged.
- Weather Plan: In the event of torrential weather, the race will be rescheduled for early January.
